Valentine's Day

Take a look at all the fun we had leading up to Valentine's Day;

Making flowers for our "Sunny" Flower Shop.

We made a number line up to 30. Our Ladybugs had lots of fun placing the hearts in the correct spot. We even heard our friends counting in French!

Sensory Bin - we froze hearts and sparkles mixed with red food colouring. Then we put them in our sensory bin once they were frozen.

Printing Valentine's Day words

How many candy hearts can you move before the time is up? We were working on strengthening our fine motor skills. We had to grab the candy hearts using tweezers and place as many hearts as we could into the second container before the two minutes were up.

We made crystallized hearts and spirals with borax and hot water. We used pipe cleaners for the mixture to stick to.

Can we build a city?

During outdoor play a few boys in our classroom were having a discussion about our block centre and what we should turn it into. They came up with a great idea! They wanted to build a city just like Ottawa.

We decided to have a class discussion about this idea and came up with different buildings we may need for our city.

After creating our buildings we decided that the next step was to build roads and add transportation to our city.

By the end of the week we noticed our city was beginning to fall apart. We decided that we needed some construction workers to help repair our buildings and roads.
