We observed that the squash has a thicker lining than a gourd. Now that we know this we thought it would be a great idea to cut it open.
IT'S A SQUASH!
Our ladybugs were curious about the insides of our pumpkins and apples.
We were curious about the smell. Everyone agreed that the squash and the pumpkins both smell the exact same on the inside.
Tessa asked if they could feel the insides. We decided to put them back on our science table so our friends could feel the insides and sort the squash and pumpkins seeds.
Our next question is "do the pumpkin seeds taste the same as the squash seeds?"
We will be sending home a note this week to ask permission to taste the seeds and the squash. If you would rather your child not participate please let us know. Thank you!
