WOW! Look at all our readers!

Throughout the year we have been learning about our high frequency words. We call them "Popcorn words" and "les mots étoile." Take a look at our learning!

Esther used some letter pasta to make les mots étoile.

Dylan often finds a white board during centre time and prints the popcorn words.

Charlie and Sofia decided to take turns rolling a cube with les mot étoile. We love sharing!

During carpet time we have a lot of friends who try to read our popcorn words out loud. WE HAVE READERS!!!!

We even use technology to learn our words! Some of our friends used the SmartBoard to print them. We found a fun app called QR codes where the students scan the code and a French or English word will pop up for them to read. We worked in partners for this game. One friend scanned the codes while the other friend printed the work on a clipboard. GREAT TEAMWORK!

Our friends often come to show us the high frequency word they found in a book they were looking through.

Today, we introduced the game Jenga with a bit of a twist to it. We added our high frequency words to each tile. When they successfully pulled out the tile they had to read the word out loud.

Ask your child tonight if they can find any popcorn words in their storybooks at home.
