Plasticine Art

During our whole group gathering we read two books by Barbara Reid, The Subway Mouse and The Golden Goose. Our friends loved how the pictures were done in plasticine. We decided to provide plasticine at our art table these past two weeks to see what our friends could create.

"I saw a show on my Mom's computer. It was somebody making a cake and it was Baby Groot. I used brown plasticine. I scratched it with a knife to make the branches" - Evangeline

"It's my garden. For the grass I mixed yellow and green together and then I just added yellow to make the sun. I just spread it out with my fingers." - Melody

"We made a kitty in the garden playing and she's eating her food and she's watching shooting stars and she's looking at the Northern Lights. We just pressed them so hard with our hands." - Charlie

"I made the flower." - Tamit

"It's me eating peanut butter and watermelon. The first thing I did was make my body. Then after I made my hair. Then after I made the watermelon, then my marshmallow, then the peanut butter. I mixed the plasticine with yellow and a lot of colours." - Ninya

"It's sort of like a Northern Lights. Blue for the sky, brown for the ground, green for the grass and red for the red paint. I used my hands to push it on the plate. Black plasticine for the dark clouds. I used a knife to spread the red plasticine out." - Sofia

"I made a storm. These fireballs are coming down and all the people were looking for what to get out of the firestorm. I used blue and peach colour to make the part of the storm. I put it on the plate and I spread it with my hands." - Esther

"It's all of everything in the entire world. The brown things are the beach, the green things are the school, and the peach is where people live. The red is the Canada and the blue is something different so the blue is the trees." - Payton
